VahanInfo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the VahanInfo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
Disclaimer: We do not have any association with any state RTO. All vehicle information about vehicle owners shown in the app are publicly available on the Parivahan/mParivahan website (https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/). We are only acting as an intermediary to make this information easily available to the users via the mobile app.

We use Google AdMob as our primary advertising platform to display banner ads, native ads, interstitial ads, rewarded video ads, and app open ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad interaction data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your device settings.
AdMob uses mediation to maximize ad fill rate and revenue. Through mediation, additional ad networks (listed below) may also serve ads in our App. Each mediation partner has its own data collection practices, governed by their respective privacy policies.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by going to your device's Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Through AdMob mediation, ads may be served by Meta Audience Network (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.). Meta Audience Network may collect device identifiers (including Advertising ID), IP address, device information, and ad interaction data to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance.

Through AdMob mediation, ads may also be served by Unity Ads (operated by Unity Technologies). Unity Ads may collect device identifiers (including Advertising ID), IP address, device information, app information, and ad interaction data for ad serving, attribution, and fraud prevention purposes.

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data to identify and fix app issues. This data includes device model, OS version, and crash stack traces.

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App, including screen views and feature usage. This helps us improve the App experience.
We use Firebase Remote Config to remotely manage app settings and feature availability without requiring an app update.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications for important app updates, announcements, and service information. FCM may collect device tokens for notification delivery. These tokens are not linked to any personal identity. You can disable notifications at any time from your device's app settings. On Android 13 and above, notification permission must be explicitly granted by you.
The App schedules a daily background task (using Android WorkManager) that runs on your device — no external server is involved. This task reads your locally cached vehicle search history, checks the PUC and Insurance expiry dates, and fires a local device notification if any vehicle's certificate is expiring within 30 days or has already expired. No vehicle data leaves your device during this process. You can disable these alerts at any time by turning off notifications for VahanInfo in your device's app settings.
We use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to manage advertising consent, primarily for users in the European Economic Area (EEA). UMP determines whether a consent form needs to be shown based on your region and applicable regulations (e.g. GDPR). For Indian users, no consent form is shown — UMP automatically determines that consent is not required. The consent status is stored locally on your device and is used only to decide whether personalized or non-personalized ads should be served.

Vehicle registration and driving license information is fetched from publicly available government databases. We are not affiliated with any government body. The information displayed is publicly available data.
Our App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob and its mediation partners (Meta Audience Network and Unity Ads). AdMob mediation automatically selects the best-performing ad source for each ad request to maximize fill rate and user experience.

Our App is designed for users aged 18 and above. The App is NOT directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App displays personalized advertisements which are not suitable for children under the age of consent.

Optional permissions are requested only when you use the specific feature and can be denied without affecting core app functionality. We do NOT request CAMERA, LOCATION, CONTACTS, STORAGE, or any other sensitive permissions.
